  • The toxin is injected into the muscle using a fine needle
  • The procedure only takes a few minutes with no anesthesia required

Dermal Fillers

As we get older, the collagen on our skin decreases gradually. This makes our skin age faster as it loses moisture and volume. Dermal fillers are a great solution if you are looking for ways to turn back the hands of time and bring back soft, supple, and youthful-looking skin.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

Dermal Fillers are used in areas with lost volume. After age 20 we produce 1% less collagen in our skin each year. This drop of collagen can result in:

  • Hallowing of the cheeks
  • Hallows under the eyes
  • Hallows in the temple
  • Deep creases or lines and wrinkles such as nasolobial folds or smile lines
  • Loosing volume in the face
  • Thinning lips
  • Relaxed jawline contour
  • Neck laxity
  • Hand laxity

What are Restylane and Juvederm?

The two fillers are created by different companies – Allergan makes Juvederm, and Galderma produces Restylane – but both are sterile gels consisting of hyaluronic acid (HA) which attracts water in the body to plump up and fill in the areas, smoothening out the skin. Each filler has its own unique properties-the HAs have different cross-linking structure, but for the most part, they are considered interchangeable.

Treatment areas:

  • Tear trough
  • Cheek Enhancement
  • Non -Surgical Facelift
  • Lip Enhancement
  • Chin Enhancement
  • Jaw Line Enhancement
  • Marionette Lines

What are Radiesse and Sculptra Aesthetic?

There are two types of dermal fillers: Fillers that provide volume replacement, like hyaluronic acid HA based fillers (Juvederm, Restylane) and collagen biostimulators, such as Sculptra and Radiesse. Radiesse allows for more immediate results in volumization and Sculptra works longer at producing collagen. In general Sculptra can be characterize as more of a “liquid facelift’ and Radiesse as an implant, providing sturdy reproducible results. Collagen biostimulator fillers can be diluted to help with skin creepiness, tightened and wrinkled skin improvement after several treatments. For best results recommended to use after Forma RF to double the collagen production.

Treatment Areas:

  • Back of hands
  • Neck
  • Decolletage laxity
  • Full face rejuvenation (temples, cheeks, marionette lines, corners of the mouth, pre-jowl fold, jaw, chin, chin wrinkles, upper and lower lip wrinkles, neck)

Radiesse

Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) based dermal filler stimulates the production of your own natural collagen, helping your body build its own natural filler. Radiesse is especially helpful and useful in patients who have begun to show signs of aging related facial bone and volume loss. It is great as a versatile filler to build the jaw, chin or temples for volume lifting and skin rejuvenation.

What is Hyperdiluted Radiesse?

Hyperdiluted Radiesse is simply Radiesse that is thinned out with a mixture of saline and lidocaine. This deluted mixture is then injected superficially under the skin, acting as a skin rejuvenation treatment rather than a volumizer. Radiesse is effective in increasing the production of type 1 collagen and elastin 7 months after injection.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra uses microscopic particles in the filler to stimulate collagen production within the skin to treat and correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid PLLA. As the Sculptra PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuild collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds. Sculptra is about long-term aging control, not just filling up a wrinkle.

Results are seen after six weeks and can last up to two years. It needs to be reconstituted 24 hours in advance and can be done in different dilutions depending on where it is needed. Most patients require an average of three treatments spaced six weeks apart.

It changes your skin, reverses aging, stimulates your body’s natural collagen production, reduces wrinkles/facial folds, and restore’s facial volume.

Post treatment home care:
5-5-5 regimen: face massage for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days.

What kind of post-procedure aftercare is required?

You may need an icepack to reduce mild swelling after the procedure, and the area may feel a little tender for a day or two. Although you can resume your normal activities in 24 hours.

When will the results of the procedure be noticeable?

The results from dermal fillers are seen immediately and may last from six months to a year. Maintaining good skin health goes a long way in improving the outcomes.
