Facial Treatments & Peels

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is an excellent solution for soft, smooth, brighter, and healthier skin. It uses a scalpel to physically exfoliate or scrape away dead skin cells and thin hair or peach fuzz on the skin. The buildup of dead skin cells can leave the skin looking dull and aged, accentuating wrinkles and fine lines. Removing this layer leaves behind new skin cells, which improves the skin’s texture and tone.

What are the benefits of dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a pain-free procedure and has no downtime. It can be used on all skin types. The procedure can also be combined with facial treatments, which allow for deeper penetration of the products, giving better results. It is best suited for acne scars, dull, dry, and sun-damaged skin, as well as fine lines and wrinkles.

What happens during the procedure?

Our practitioner will clean and prep your face when you come in for your appointment. An electronic or manual dermaplaning tool is used to scrape your skin at a 45-degree angle. After the procedure, we can apply a soothing cream to minimize irritation and sunscreen.

What kind of post-procedure aftercare is required?

After dermaplaning, you must be careful about skin exposure. Sun damage could reverse the effects of the procedure or cause skin pigmentation. You should use sunscreen regularly.

Does the procedure hurt? What can the possible side effects be?

The procedure does not hurt. Some people experience a tingling sensation on their skin during the treatment. Your skin may appear a little red after the procedure, but that fades away in a few hours.

When will the results of the procedure be noticeable?

The skin looks brighter a few days after the treatment when the redness fades. These results are visible for around three weeks.

What are the target areas where dermaplaning can be used?

It is usually used over the face and neck areas.

Chemical Peels

Blemishes, scars, and uneven pigmentation can be cleared away using a chemical solution or peel. This gently strips away the outer damaged skin layers to reveal radiant and clear skin below.

What are the benefits of chemical peels?

Chemical peels are non-invasive procedures that have minimum downtime. The chemicals used can be customized to your skin’s needs. It is a great way to exfoliate the skin and treat various conditions like wrinkles and fine lines, sun damage, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone or redness.

What happens during the procedure?

Before the procedure, you may be advised to avoid any type of retinol topical solutions or facial scrubs for at least 48 hours. You may also be asked not to wax, bleach, or apply hair removal creams to the target area.

After understanding your needs and evaluating your skin, our practitioners clean and prep your skin before the procedure. You may be given protection like eye pads or goggles if your target areas are close to your eyes. A cotton ball, gauze, or brush will be used to apply the chemical solution across the skin area. After it has been left on the skin for the recommended period, it is removed, and a neutralizing solution is applied to soothe your skin.

What kind of post-procedure aftercare is required?

Your skin will recover in 3-5 days after a chemical peel. Sometimes as the old skin dries, it may form discolored patches or crusts before it gradually peels off. It is advisable to avoid makeup and the sun. Apply only protective sunscreen and moisturizers till the skin heals.

Does the procedure hurt? What can the possible side effects be?

Light chemical peels are not painful and may cause a mild stinging sensation during the treatment. You may experience redness, dryness, stinging or burning, and slight swelling, which is temporary. If you notice darkening or lightening of the skin, scarring, or signs of inflammation, please come in for a consultation.

When will the results of the procedure be noticeable?

The results of a chemical peel are usually seen 1-3 days after the procedure, once the old skin sheds and the new skin is revealed.

What are the target areas where chemical peels can be used?

Chemical peels are usually applied to the face and neck but can be used on your arms, legs, or any other skin surface as well.
